Well, after much wrangling, careful consideration of all the suggestions, and a lot of thought whilst doing other things, the kitten's name is Sweetie Pie. My boyfriend conceded that it fits her better than anything else we (or anyone else) could conjure.

Heehee, I won!

I knew we were keeping her when he asked me how much it cost us to have Tessa spayed last year. He wouldn't be thinking about the cost of spaying if we weren't going to keep her.

But that's all the pets we're going to have. We really can't afford any more animals. I mean it.

We're both such softies when it comes to animals. He hates to admit it but he is; I freely admit that a small furry body and big eyes will get me every time, especially if it's a cat.

I just learned of the death of Jordan Mason, known on LJ and RS as [livejournal.com profile] kileaiya. She was 20.

She always made colorful posts when someone's birthday came, and she almost always made cheerful posts about everything.

I only knew her online, but I sent her a holiday card this past holiday season; she was one of the people who exchanged addresses with me for that purpose. I will miss her posts and her cheerful attitude. May she be in a beautiful place where there is no pain and suffering, only joy.

ETA: She's the one who made my icon purple for me; the original was Barbie-box pink, which is not exactly my favorite color. I mentioned when I first used it that I wished it was purple, and voila, she made it purple for me. So even though the sentiment of the icon does not match the sentiment of this post, I'm leaving the icon (my default icon anyway) in place in memory of the one who changed it from a color I really don't like to my favorite color.
