Sep. 15th, 2006 06:28 amIn the ongoing lice saga, we had to cut Nancy's hair off entirely. She now looks like she's just gone to boot camp. There was just no other way to get rid of the nits on her head, except to cut it all off.
It's a shame, really; she had lovely hair, a glowing golden red with a slight natural wave. She wasn't too happy about it but we told her she could have a purple wig if she wanted, and I'm going to buy her at least a black wig for her Halloween costume (she wants to be a black cat). I also told her that I'd show her how to take extra-special good care of her hair to help it grow and to make it really healthy.
The rest of us seem to be clean. I'm going to wash her bedding and the towels again later today, and re-treat everybody some time in the middle of next week; hopefully that will end this shit, because I am tired of it.
I really wish we hadn't had to cut her hair OFF, but it was either hers or mine (probably, if we didn't get rid of the lice), and I'm damned if I'm giving up my favorite part of my appearance without one hell of a fight.
