UNF's Concert Choir and Orchestra Perform Bach's 'St. Matthew Passion'
he UNF Concert Choir and Orchestra will come together to perform Bach's "St. Matthew Passion," offering a rare presentation of one of the greatest choral-orchestral works ever written. The concert will take place Friday, April 14 (Good Friday) in the Fine Arts Center's Lazzara Performance Hall. It will be split into two parts, with Part 1 beginning at 4 p.m. and Part 2 beginning at 7:30 p.m. This concert will feature members of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and Jacksonville Children's Chorus. Guest soloists will include David Adams of the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music; Jason Badger of the New York City Opera; Krzysztof Biernacki, UNF Music Department faculty member; Eastman School of Music graduates Brittany Palmer, Pablo Bustos and Marc Webster. I ADORE Bach's music, and I have the St. Matthew Passion on CD, but I'd love to hear it performed live.
Maybe we can go for a late-ish supper afterwards?
